"Hey! Why don't you sit for dogs?"
|
I get asked this question frequently. I like dogs, but since I have never had a dog, I don't feel qualified to take on the responsibility of caring for them professionally. Some of my clients have dogs and say their dogs are happier going to doggie camps or staying with friends while they're gone, while I visit the kitties at home. Dogs (as opposed to most cats) enjoy the company of other dogs, and look forward to making new friends and having constant companionship on their short stays away from home. Cats are happier in their own environments and do quite well with one or two visits a day. Most dogs would get quite lonely in this situation. Other dogs enjoy accompanying their owners on roadtrips to the beach or mountains. I am happy to provide referrals for any of the area's excellent doggie daycares, dog walkers, and canine resorts.
